With Australian political parties announcing housing supply and some demand side solutions, I'd like to encourage some more integrated thinking. The housing generations Y and Z rent is more likely to be thermally uncomfortable and inefficient to heat/cool. The newer, homes policies encourage them to buy is more likely to be away from services, increasing transport costs and often subject to climate/nature risk manifesting as expensive insurance that may not be maintained. We can and must do better.
